Wired cameras are powered continuously through the cable, usually PoE (Power over Ethernet), so there’s no battery to manage and no gaps in coverage.
Footage quality and reliability
Wireless cameras rely on your WiFi signal to transmit footage, which means range, walls, interference from other devices, and even weather can all affect performance. If the signal drops, so does your footage. Wired cameras send data directly through the cable to your recorder, so the connection is stable regardless of what else is happening on your network.
